Frequently Asked Questions
Q. How do I know which program to use?
A. The E-mail program you use is based on personal preference. For some users, our webmail (http://mail.wisperhome.com) is powerful enough. For others, they need the plug-ins and power of Outlook. Most operating systems have an E-mail program built in (refer to the chart below). We recommend Windows Live Mail, which is a free download as part of a package from live.com

Q. What is the difference between POP and IMAP?
A. POP uses a one-way communication path. Your device or E-mail program will download the messages from our mail server to your computer. IMAP uses a two-way communication path. If you have multiple devices or computers you would like to view your E-mail on, IMAP is the option that you want to select. IMAP is a 'live' view of your E-mail messages on our mail server. This requires a constant connection to the internet unlike POP.
Q. Why can't I send E-mail using Outlook?
A. Make sure the 'my outgoing server requires authentication' option is enabled. Depending on your E-mail client, this option is located in the E-mail accounts, under your E-mail account. Select the 'More Settings' button, then the Outgoing Server tab
Q. Why is webmail or my E-mail client saying incorrect username?
A. Make sure the name you are imputing into the username field is your complete E-mail address.
Q. How do I change my E-mail password?
A. An E-mail password change can be done by our support technicians or by going to the password reset in webmail.
Q. What if I have forgotten my E-mail password?
A. Contact our technical support to reset your password.
